I spent an amazing day yesterday at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. I met wonderful people, discovered many inspiring books, and saw several exhibitions. I’m still gathering all the impressions. Amazing—just amazing.
And about the catalogue Italian Excellence Pinocchio's New Clothes
It’s divided into two parts, just like the exhibition itself — one features illustrations by artists who illustrated the story of Pinocchio in the past, and the other is dedicated to those of us selected through the competition for the exhibition.
There were 531 submissions from 54 countries, and 24 of us were selected. Each chosen illustrator got a few words alongside their work, which feels especially thoughtful.
The catalogue is beautifully made — great print, lovely paper. All exhibiting artists received a complimentary copy.
Maybe my excitement is a bit much sometimes. But I can’t help it — every achievement like this is something I never really expect. And when it happens, it feels like a dream.
