O lepoti
Lepota. Kaj je lepota? Skrita v hrošču, ko se mu zaslesketajo krila, ko jih obsveti sonce. Ko začnejo poganjati trave in rože. Ko postanejo rumeni, ker so polni regrada. Sama lepota.

About Beauty
When it feels like the world is growing ever more divided, it’s easy for a person to fall into discouragement and despair. We consider ourselves a highly developed and rational civilization, yet we are still far from it. We stumble into arguments, especially when we look at the political landscape, where we might hope our leaders would be wise and care for peace and the community. But that is far from the truth. Our leaders are not wise, and they do not all strive for peace.
This is why it seems so important to me that people connect. That we seek and build community. That we look not for differences, but for the points we share. I believe most people want peace and a world in which the human spirit can grow and flourish emotionally and spiritually.
As an artist and creator, it is essential for me to be able to see the beauty around me. Only then can I endure and preserve my mental well-being. Beauty in the small gestures I might miss when I am rushing or immersed in work. Beauty in nature—in the trees, their branches where birds find home. In the clouds, sailing solemnly across the sky, displaying an infinite array of shades. When I hear birds sing. When I gaze into the eyes of my cats and see a spark, a will to live. When I touch their soft, dense fur.
Beauty that I want to translate into my creations—beauty that comforts and strengthens my soul, and maybe touches someone else who experiences my work. Beauty. But what is beauty? Hidden in a beetle when its wings glint in the sunlight. In the first shoots of grasses and flowers. In dandelions, turning yellow as they bloom. Pure beauty. And this is only a glimpse of what I see from a window or when I step outside my home. Imagine all that I do not see! Yet someone else might.
I wish for us to be able to see. To feel—within ourselves, in others, in nature. What kind of world do we want? And what can each of us contribute to begin building a world where there is room for beauty and dialogue?
